Although I was born in Oswestry, Shropshire, UK I have virtually no memory of living there because my family all moved to Chester in the North West of England when I was 5 years old. It was at the tender age of 9 when my natural ability was realised. I came first place in a national art competition held by schools in the UK.

In 1998, I decided that after having brought up my three children it was now the time to take a career change, so I gave up my accountancy job, threw away my calculator, picked up my brushes etc. and became an artist. It was a few decades later than I would have liked it to be, however, better late than never! At last I was able to use my proven ability. After that, it was then only a few years before I was exhibiting and receiving commissions for my work. My work can be found in private collections throughout Europe, Asia, Middle East, United States and Canada, to name but a few.

Creating art has always been my greatest passion. I've been drawing and painting for what seems like forever. I've never received any art tuition, apart from the mandatory ones back in my school days....and that's way too far back for me to remember! So I guess that that makes me mainly self taught. My accomplishments as a self taught artist have been achieved through my love of art and through sheer determination to succeed in my life long ambition.

Portraits are my main passion. To start with a blank canvas/paper and slowly watch the features come together capturing the very essence of that person never ceases to provide me with great pleasure. I truly feel blessed with a talent that brings joy to the lives of others.

Besides painting I also held adult art classes in Belgium and Saudi Arabia.. I will be starting up new classes in the UK in 2009. Dates and the venue of these classes will be added to this web-site as soon as it is organised.
